Granger
Lake
Granger Lake is
located in the Texas Blacklands Prairie northeast of Austin, TX. It is a
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
reservoir, which means that it is completely surrounded by parks and wildlife
areas. These photos were taken on a three-mile nature walk around the
southwest corner of the lake.

There are a couple of old bridges from the turn of the last century
that have been moved to Granger Lake and restored. They are iron
trusses with wooden planking, and one of them is supposedly haunted.

There are lots of prickly pear cactus and bluebonnets in the Central
Texas area.

|
The spring verdage in the park is lush.

A tree had fallen across a long wooden bridge across a small
gully. It was just a bit to heavy to move on our own, so we manuevered
through it.
